There are numerous pathologies and situations when your horse or large animal may benefit from Veterinary Physiotherapy.
These include;
- Back pain - ‘cold backed’, moving off when mounting, previous poor fitting saddle (can lead to chronic spinal muscle tension).
- Tendon injuries
- Reduced performance - difficulty on one rein, disuniting in canter, knocking fences, poor bend, poor hind limb engagement - to name but a few
- ‘Just not right’
- Altered temperament
- Unusual behaviours - bucking, rearing, napping
- Muscle imbalance and/or weakness
- Routine checks - pre, post or mid season
- Box rest - stable exercises appropriate for the injury to maintain suppleness and core strength
